E3 2017: Crackdown 3 Release Date Set For November 7th, 2017

The official release date for Crackdown 3 has been set for the Xbox One and Xbox One X, along with a Windows 10 release on PC, for November 7th, 2017. The game will release as a launch title for the Xbox One X, making it one of the 22 exclusives set to appear on the home console.

The announcement for Crackdown 3’s release date was accompanied by an introduction from the over-the-top muscle-bound PC Master Race member himself, Terry Crews.

The trailer is filled with lots of explosions and a throwback to the first game’s limited roster of supped up Agents.

Just like in Realtime Worlds’ original Crackdown, it appears players will have a choice of picking from a couple of different agents and then taking to the open-world to rid the city of crime. You can check out the trailer below, courtesy of MKIceandFire.

The upgrade mechanic has made a return, enabling gamers to up the stats of their Agent and increase their running, jumping, throwing and fighting capabilities.

We don’t get to see any of the vehicular gameplay on display or if the vehicle upgrades will still make an appearance, but a large cache of dangerous and explosive weapons will be available at the player’s disposal, and a new slew of enemies will also be present to help add some challenge to the gameplay.

Sadly I can’t say that I’m all too impressed with what was on display. A lot of it just looks like a retread from Crackdown 1 but without the Agents looking anywhere near as deadly or as combat ready, and with far less focus on the destructibility.

Hopefully my impressions of the game are misplaced and it will be everything that the original game was and then some.

One thing that they added that was not present in the last two outings of Crackdown is a female Agent. This will surely assuage the complaints of the white knights, betas and SJWs (but they will likely find something else to complain about anyway).

Anyway, you can look for Crackdown 3 to launch on November 7th, 2017 for the Xbox One, Xbox One S and on Windows 10 for PC.
