E3 2017: Kingdom Come Deliverance Video Previews Dice Mini-Game, Melee Combat

During E3 there was a 13 minute demonstration for Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The E3 demonstration showcases some of the game’s NPC interactions, the exploration and some of the details surrounding the history of 15th century Europe.

One of the things that’s really hammered home during the PlayStation Access preview is that the game has lots and lots of historically accurate content. They also mention that there are a lot of optional ways of dealing with NPCs and how you talk or engage with them. For instance, sometimes if you can’t talk your way out of a situation you’ll end up having to fight your way out of a situation. You can check it out below.

They also showcase the dice mini-game for the first time, where we see players rolling dice and attempting to win against an NPC.

We also find out a bit more about the game’s demo system with both hand-to-hand melee combat and the weapon combat as well.

One of the things they also explain during the demo is that higher level armor isn’t necessarily always the best. For instance, they explain that fully covered armor will encumber you quite a bit, and when you have a fully protective helmet your visibility will be about nil.

The video demonstrates a few of the tutorial combat moments and then finishes off with a skirmish between two groups of soldiers duking it out in a forest.

The PlayStation Access crew were pretty excited for the game. I’m a little shocked that Zoe Quinn wasn’t raging down on Daniel Vavra for being an avid supporter of #GamerGate during the early days back in 2014. Vavra definitely was a lot more robust about his views during #GamerGate than The Last Night dev, Tim Soret, who Quinn and crew hammered down upon with a torrent of hate as if he were a Max Pad absorbing the cherry juice of a 300lb land whale.

Anyway, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is due for release on February 13th, 2018 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
