E3 2017 has brought forth a lot of games, some good and some bad, and speaking of games being revealed comes Nintendo’s E3 presentation, which brings the existence of a new Yoshi game to the forefront. The new Yoshi title is set to launch sometime during 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.
That’s right, Mario’s green lizard or dinosaur-thing has a new game in the works for the Switch. And although I’d prefer a new Yoshi’s Island with graphics resembling the older game just with today’s tech, we do instead get a new 2D/3D title featuring said character.
The new game follows Yoshi on a new adventure that sports action and platforming elements in an unfamiliar world. Decorated like a miniature diorama, the world map and stages rock a new art style to represent the new game’s latest features:
“Lead Yoshi on a brand new adventure that will turn everything you’ve come to expect from side-scrolling games upside down! Explore a great, big world decorated like a miniature diorama in a new art style for the franchise, where each side-scrolling stage has the traditional front side as well as a flip side with different views and surprises. Look for items throughout the stage as Yoshi makes his way to the goal. You can even join up with a friend!”
Each course is said to offer both a main and hidden path that explores different views and surprises. I’m not sure how fun the game will be, but what I do know is that a lot of people seem to be split on the upcoming Yoshi Switch game. You be the judge and as to whether the game is worth keeping an eye on or if it’s something to skip by watching the latest E3 video trailer.
Announced During Nintendo’s E3 2017 spotlight presentation, the new Yoshi game, like a lot of the newly announced titles, is set to debut sometime in 2018 for the Switch.
