The full story trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was revealed during the Nintendo Direct that outlined Nintendo’s upcoming holiday line-up for the Nintendo Switch. The game’s trailer focused on the two main characters and their journey to Elysium.
Rex manages to get his hands on a blade and must travel to Elysium. He joins up with a busty companion and must face off against a number of obstacles and enemies along the way. You can check out the trailer below.
Rex attempts to get the Aegis back to Elysium. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is scheduled to launch in late fall of 2017 this year. It’s the JRPG experience that Nintendo Switch fans have likely been waiting for.
It features active time turn-based battles, lots of cinematic sequences, and the typical large-scale, open-world adventure that the Xenoblade series has become renown for.
Of course, the real noteworthy news here is that Monolith has decided to focus on character designs that have always been popular and common place in Japan. This means female characters showing plenty of skin and having large chests.
I’m sure the Western localizers had a conniption over the designs of the female characters because a lot of Nintendo’s Western localizers have been spending a lot of time censoring their female characters and other content in games like Fire Emblem: Fates with the head-patting, and Tokyo Mirage: Sessions by throwing the characters on more clothes and removing the female pelvic bones. There was also the complete removal of the breast slider in the custom character maker in Xenoblade Chronicles X.
It would be amazing if Xenoblade Chronicles 2 managed to make the leap onto the Nintendo Switch in the West unmolested by the localizers, but that’s a tall order.
We’ll see how the game turns out when it launches this fall exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
