Hitman Episode 1: ICA Facility Free Download Available On PS4, PC, Xbox One

IO Interactive, after becoming unlatched from publisher Square Enix, announced that as part of their celebration of freedom they will be giving away the first episode of the 2016 Hitman reboot, for free.

The ICA training facility that was featured as the prelude to the events that transpired thereafter throughout the Hitman episodes, will give players two full story missions to play through, full cinematics for those story missions, two Escalation Contracts, 40 different challenges, and 17 achievements and/or trophies to unlock.

The news comes courtesy of a post over on the official Hitman website, where Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, explained to fans why they were giving away the episode for free, writing…

“I’m proud to announce that our first hello as an independent studio is to invite all gamers to play the beginning of HITMAN for free. There is a lot of love out there for HITMAN and with this offering we hope that many more will fall in love with the game. We believe that this is Hitman at its best. So jump in and give a try.”

Just to prove that they aren’t just pulling legs and strumming garrote wire, they released a new trailer showcasing what the ICA facility is like and what gamers can expect from the free episode.

The free episode is listed as a demo for the available platforms that it’s on. Additionally, you’ll be able to retain all of your progress if you decide to upgrade from the demo to the full version.

They have a separate web portal setup that you can head to called Hitman.com/Free, which lists the three different versions of the free episode for Steam, the PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One.

In addition to announcing the free demo, they also discounted the entire episode pack by 66% on the Steam store, so you can grab all six episodes in the first season for $23.73.
