Prideful Sloth’s Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles received a new trailer ahead of its upcoming July 18th launch for the PlayStation 4 and PC. The new trailer is just a minute long and gives gamers a nice little look at the gameplay in the 3D adventure title.
The trailer covers the gameplay and various biomes present in the open-world adventure title. Players will attempt to travel yonder to save their home from the growing plague while gathering supplies, meeting new locals and interacting with the expansive environment. You can see the trailer in action below to get an idea of what it’s about.
For people who thoroughly enjoy having their thumbs tested in games about wit and adventuring as opposed to reflexes and timing, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles seems to be right up your alley.
The game is pretty much like a Legend of Zelda clone, where you’ll venture around, battling some foes, gathering up resources, chopping down trees and completing quests.
In fact, it’s nice to see more games popping up that kindle a sense of wonder and emergence, as opposed to relying strictly on linear storytelling or PvP survival mechanics.
We’ve also seen games like Oceanhorn and Owlboy pop up that also snugly fit into this category, although Owlboy is a 2D adventure game and not a 3D adventure game.
Even still, if you’ve been enjoying the resurgence of 3D platformers popping up – like with Yooka-Laylee – then you’ll probably be keen on keeping your eyes leveled on the release of Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles when it arrives on digital store shelves this summer starting July 18th for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
