Hate what Capcom is doing with Mega Man? Do you think you have want it takes to make an interesting Blue Bomber game? If so, Mega Man Maker, a fan made project, is set to release on July 15th for PC. Gamers who fancy assembling random parts and like Mega Man will be able to create their very own stages and share them via WreckingPrograms’ Mega Man Maker.
There’s no doubt that Capcom will likely shut this whole project down, but while its existence is apparent for the time being, gamers have the opportunity to create a wide variety of Mega Man scenarios from the classic 2D era.
If a game like Super Mario Maker comes to mind, or like the recently filed for patent by Bandai Namco that sees the iconic cracker eater, Pac-Man, entering the same player made space, you can rest assured that Mega Man Maker draws a lot of inspiration from said game.
In total, the fan made project will feature 46 different enemies, 29 level objects to mess around with, 12 bosses to fight, 24 special weapons to handle, 40 backgrounds to off-set a stage, 129 tile-sets to make a place look original, and 63 tracks to make a map seem legit… although the game or the devs have no affiliation with Capcom.
Anyway, the official description explaining what Mega Man Maker has to offer lies below:
“Jump, shoot, create! Mega Maker is a fan game all about creating your own Mega Man levels and sharing them with the world! Alternatively, play one of many levels created by other users, from full-length Robot Master stages to unique puzzle levels. There’s content for everyone to enjoy, all for the low price of nothing!”
Thanks to the free fan made project’s main website, a batch of screenshots showing in-game footage can be seen. Each of the images show something related to the game, whether it be an in-game menu or an actual stage.
If screenshots aren’t your thing and trailer suit you better, you can check out the most recent near three minute long video trailer posted by WreckingPrograms.
