Polyphony and Sony unleashed a video for Gran Turismo Sport’s livery editor. The six minute video covers all the different options that you can use in the first ever livery editor for a Gran Turismo game.
The video was posted up over on the PlayStation Access YouTube channel. You can check out the video below, which covers all the different options when it comes to customizing the car.
The livery editor allows you to manually add your own text , add in shapes, color gradients, geometric options, and the ability to color each part of the car separately.
You can also customize and upload your own decals and share it with other players. The general menu allows you to preview the car, modify the background, change the paint options, modify the wheels, or add racing items.
The color options also allow you to choose different types of the same color, so you have candy, matte, gloss, metallic, chrome and a host of other colors that you can apply to each part on the car. The livery editor isn’t quite up to scratch to what you get in the newer Forza Motorsport games since Turn 10 has had a decade to perfect that feature, but it’s a nice addition to the Gran Turismo feature list regardless of its retardation.
You can see what the finished product looks like with the custom car being featured in the Photo Mode in Gran Turismo Sport, which you can check out below.
The Photo Mode is extremely detailed.
You can change the shutter speed, exposure correction, focus, aperture, lighting, resolution, rotation, and the aspect.
One thing that really shocked me is that you can modify almost every aspect of how the car appears in the Photo Mode, including how bright you want the lights, how you want the wheels to turn, what position the car appears as in the background, even add a variety of filters to the photo as well.
While Gran Turismo Sport doesn’t seem to be as visually as adept as Forza Motorsport 7 when it comes to the actual gameplay, but the Photo Mode really is impressive. You can look for Gran Turismo Sport to launch this fall for the PS4, PSVR and PS4 Pro.
