The Napoleonic Era and multiplayer will soon come together on September 21st. This is made possible by Anvil Game Studios and its upcoming third-person shooter Holdfast: Nations At War when it hits PC via Steam Early Access.
At its heart, Holdfast: Nations At War is an online multiplayer third-person shooter that doubles over as a first-person shooter, too. The game is said by the devs to focus on a combination of teamwork and individual skill, which tasks players to partake in “historic clashes” on land and sea.
There’s no telling how Nations At War will be at launch, but what is for certain is that the game will launch on September 21st. The update regarding the September 21st launch date did not warrant the devs to release a new trailer, but instead to go back and update its Steam page and the official trailer’s description.
You can read the description explaining what Nations At War has to offer:
“Fight on multiple fronts in Holdfast: Nations At War – A competitive multiplayer first and third person shooter set during the great Napoleonic Era.”
The official trailer by Anvil Game Studio that was updated too can be seen right here.
The video above is very old and does not reflect the current version of the game just the new date. If you want to see a more recent video — although it is a month old — you can watch a tour video of Arendan River.
Destructible environments will be present in Holdfast: Nations At War, which is pretty cool. The most important thing, of course, is how solid is the gameplay and mechanics? Seeing that the game once started on Steam Greenlight does have me worried that it will fall flat in a lot of areas, but hopefully gamers looking to engage in old school warfare will be able to do just that in Nations At War.
You can find more information on this game a month out from now starting on September 21st or over on holdfastgame.com.
