Senko No Ronde 2 Demo Now Available On US PSN Store

There’s a new demo of the fighting game Senko No Ronde 2 currently available for free, right now, over on the North American PlayStation Network Store. You can download the demo right now by visiting the PlayStation Store and clicking on the “Try Free Demo” button.

The demo is for the PlayStation 4, and it’s from Degica. Shoryuken spotted the new demo along with an eight minute tutorial video that was published recently, covering the gameplay and mechanics. You can check out the video below.

The tutorial video starts by going over the basics, including the health bars (or armor gauge), the charge charge that replenishes itself over time (or it can be boosted with attacks), and how you lose a match. Basically once your armor is gone and you take a hit, you lose the round.

The video also covers some of the more complex maneuvers, including dashing and dash-turning. You can also perform dash-cancels by using the brake.

Combat is very similar to Virtual-On, insofar that you have melee attacks and projectiles. You can also utilize a barrier with the right-trigger, to block incoming attacks.

Unlock a lot of other games, you can actually attack while you block by tapping ‘X’ or Circle while the barrier is activated.

You can also use a special power ability to do some extra damage, but it takes about 100 seconds for it to recharge.

Melee attacks can break through an enemy’s barrier and also drain their charge, so there’s an advantage to using the melee.

The game also allows you to use a special B.O.S.S., attack to do super powerful attacks, but they can only be used once per round.

This is truly a Japanese game.

The demo is really tiny, though, and only 317MB. So it won’t eat up much of your allotted monthly bandwidth (assuming that’s something you have to contend with). The demo is available right now for Western PS4 gamers, if you’re interested.
