THQ Nordic has a new game in the works that goes by the name of BioMutant, and a new CGI trailer showing off the game is now available for your viewing pleasure. The post-apocalyptic, open-world action-RPG developed by Experiment 101 Games is set to come out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One sometime in 2018.
The new game titled BioMutant is said to sport real-time combat that mixes melee, guns and special abilities. Customization will be present and applicable across various aspects of the protagonist — which includes prosthetic parts and mutation/physical changes to offer greater power — and an automaton sidekick that is said to be a living robotic made of toys.
Vehicles will be present as well, such as mech, jet-ski and UFO-like things; they will also be open for customization, too. While on the topic of customization, a crafting system will be present to create new weapons and gear.
An overview by THQ Nordic and a video CGI trailer that IGN posted up are both visible for your viewing pleasure:
Biomutant is a post-apocalyptic open-world ARPG that delivers real-time melee, shooter and mutant ability action. Replayability by varied and deep character progression, exploration of three systematically generated worlds, an underworld and a small solar system, by foot, mech, air-balloon, jetski and UFO. Biomutant also features a fully customizable (MMO style) character and mutation system, bionics and creative item crafting, plus an interactive narrative featuring a contextual storyteller where the players creates their own story of survival in a vibrant colorful world.
BioMutant will be playable at GamesCom 2017 in Cologn, Germany this week, so if you want to see real gameplay it should show up soon. If all of the above won you over, a collector’s edition will be available for $119.99 which features a copy of the game, the OST, a figurine, A1 artwork on fabric, and a premium box.
