Yakuza Studio has announced a new Hokuto Ga Gotoku or Fist of the North Star game for PS4. The developers behind Yakuza will bring the game to Japan sometime in 2018. However no word on a Western release has been announced yet.
Often referred to as a real main character that takes no stuff, a warrior named Kenshiro, the successor of a fatal martial art style known as Hokuto Shinken, which gives him the ability to kill his adversaries from within, will be in the new Fist of the North Star game by Sega’s Yakuza Studio.
Dubbed as an action-adventure game, it will feature a completely new story set in “Eden,” the place of entertainment and the district of the century’s end where the hopes of the people come together and assemble. Players will be able to experience action and exploration, with an added bonus of Yakuza series-style play spots.
Two video trailers — one being a reveal trailer and the other showing the new game — can be seen right here thanks to Yakuza Fan and Ryu-ga-gotoku YouTube channel.
For curious readers, the story behind this game sees the final war, and its hell fire, seemingly destroying everything. However, humanity was not all lost to this very battle, and an era where all civilization that did not falter nor produce emerged as a result. Additionally, this world saw only the strong compete for little food and resources and forced them to compete in a sport of violent dominion.
One location untouched, somewhat, from this hell was a place called “The City of Miracles” or Eden. Kenshiro’s only hope, after a heart full of despair, was a rumor that his beloved fiancee Yuria, who was thought to be dead, is living in Eden. He must now travel to the heavily guarded place that could determine his fate, for which the curtain will rise on another legend of the savior.
As noted above, the game is set to release in Japan for PS4 sometime in 2018. Lastly, I hope more scenes like this one will be present in the game…
