Call Of Duty 2018 Job Listing Reveals Modern Military Setting

Call of Duty: WW2 is gearing up to come out, but like most triple-A third-party franchises on the market another game will come out in 2018. According to a job listing regarding Activision and Treyarch’s first-person shooter series, Call of Duty 2018 seems like it will go back to modern times with modern military technology.

When a series becomes too big and cashed-in on non-stop, many things can go wrong and can feel like and drag and chase to its glory days. We see that with the move after Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare to Call of Duty: WW2, and although Sledgehammer Games is working on the latter, it seems that Activision is looking to bring the series back to a state where fans will appreciate it much like a modern setting.

This step seems to be going on right now through dev team Treyarch on next year’s Call of Duty title. The information regarding a more modern title in the series comes in by publication site GameRant, who happen to have found this job listing through an Imgur user named Thermikz.

As seen above, the job listing calls for a person to help make the 2018 edition of Call of Duty to be more “modern” by having a “Deep knowledge base of firearms and modern military technology.”

A lot of complaints have surfaced regarding the “future” scene taking precedence in the series, however some fans also stress that the upcoming WW2 game seems fine, but they would rather have the options of a modern setting that provides deep weapon customization and everything else along the likes.

If Treyarch goes down the modern mill-tech with a plethora of weapon and soldier customization and a story that resembles that of the older games in the series, would it be a title worth following or would you prefer another setting? What is for certain is that Activision and Treyarch are making a new Call of Duty that will release sometime in 2018.
