Cuphead has finally hit the gaming scene and it’s now available across PC and Xbox One, with the former being accessible through Steam and GOG. The 2D action-adventure platformer brings a 1930s cartoon twist with hardcore enemies.
If tutorials give you a hard time you will find that Cuphead only kicks it up a notch through difficulty settings “Normal” and “Expert.” The whole idea behind Cuphead is that its a hardcore 2D game that features retro-style artwork and characters, which resembles that of older games.
If you are wondering what Cuphead brings to the table regarding gameplay and other content, the whole premise is surrounded by minimal lives, onslaught of enemies and boss battles that separate the worse from best.
“Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.”
If you can’t quite cut it by yourself and need help, no worries. Cuphead features Mugman who can be assumed in both single-player or in local multiplayer, while traversing new worlds and attempting to settle the odds with the devil himself.
Furthermore, new weapons and super moves are up for discovery, and on the topic of discovery, hidden secrets are sprawled around for the curious gamer to discover.
The official announcement trailer lies below for your viewing pleasure.
Honestly, I like what Cuphead has to offer via its many trailers. The game looks solid and stomps on gamers to improve the player, and I’m not talking about one-hit KO stuff, I’m talking about opting a player to use reaction time and other skills to prevail against the challenges it throws out constantly.
As of right now, Cuphead is available to purchase on PC through Steam and GOG for $19.99, which applies to its Xbox One version.
