Capcom announced two things for the PlayStation 4 version of Monster Hunter World. First, they announced that you’ll be able to play as Aloy from Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn, and your little pet will be a miniature robosaur. Second, they announced that PS4 gamers will have an exclusive beta to participate in later this year starting December 9th and running through December 12th.
The Aloy pack will be available with the launch of Monster Hunter World starting on January 26th, 2018.
The news about the beta and Aloy was unleashed with two new trailers. The Aloy trailer is only 24 seconds long and gives you a brief glimpse at the square-jawed heroine in Capcom’s upcoming hack-and-slash monster-slaying RPG. Check it out below.
Some people were glad that Aloy was in, others didn’t give two crooked rat feet about it, while others were just happy that the content is free so they don’t lose anything anyway.
The second trailer showcases some of the content you can expect to experience in the upcoming beta set to get underway in less than two month’s time. You can check it out below.
The trailer highlights some of the monsters you’ll be able to fight, as well as some of the various weapons that you will be able to use, including long range rifles, giant axes, swords, and plenty of other iconic blades and projectile-based equipment endemic to the Monster Hunter series.
The game definitely looks a lot faster and contains a much quicker combat pace than previous games. If you liked the more slow and plodding action from the older Monster Hunter games well you’re fresh out of luck. However, if you preferred something slightly faster pace then you’ll likely enjoy the new changes to the game.
Now if you don’t care about Aloy or Horizon then feel free to ignore the addition of the character. If you don’t care about Monster Hunter but you do care about Horizon then you can still get Aloy for free when the game launches. Now if you don’t care about Horizon or Monster Hunter then I have no idea why you wanted to waste time reading about the boxer-jawed heroine from Horizon: Zero Dawn or Capcom’s upcoming multiplayer-focused outing of Monster Hunter World.
Anyway, the game is due to drop this upcoming January in 2018.
