Farming Simulator Now Available For Nintendo Switch

Focus Home Interactive announced that Farming Simulator has officially launched for the Nintendo Switch. Giants Software’s realistic farming sim has already graced the other consoles and PC, and so now it’s time for the game to make its inaugural debut on Nintendo’s hybrid gaming system.

The game features the same level of authenticity from the PC version when it comes to features and gameplay, including the availability of more than 250 different authentic farming vehicles and equipment from more than 75 manufacturers.

You’ll start off lowly working the basic crops, reaping what you sow, harvesting, and selling your goods for money. And the best part about it is that you don’t have to worry about government subsidies ruining your capitalistic mojo!

Anyway, there’s a trailer detailing how the game looks, runs and plays on the Nintendo Switch, which you can check out below.

So right off the bat I have to say that the game looks a heck of a lot better than I thought it would.

It’s impressive that Giants not only managed to retain the high fidelity graphics and assets from the larger versions, but they also managed to squeeze them all down to run on the pint-size screen of the Switch in portable mode.

In the full TV mode you see that the farming vehicles look as pristine and detailed as you would expect from the other home console versions.

We also see that you can play the game using the wireless Joy-Cons in tabletop mode, along with showcasing how you can breeze through the buying and management menus and option screens using the touchscreen features. I imagine that will make it a heck of a lot easier when it comes time to purchasing vehicles and supplies as opposed to using a cursor to navigate through those complex menu screens.

I think the one thing that just baffles my mind is how on Earth did Giants Software manage to get the game to look so friggen good on the Switch?

Anyway, I have no idea if this is a game that will attract any sizable demographics who own a Nintendo Switch, but if you’ve been craving for a miscellaneous farming game with realistic conditions, mechanics, physics and management, you can pick up a digital or physical copy of Farming Simulator right now for the Nintendo Switch.
