Reikon Games and Devolver Digital recently rolled out a new patch for Ruiner, the cyberpunk, isometric, hardcore action game that came out this past fall. The new update is free for everyone who already owns the game and it adds a New Game+, an all new set of kill moves, and brand new clothes.
The update was plastered over the Steam page for Ruiner, where the developers revealed that nine brand new weapons have been added to the game, along with an all new Speedrun Mode to challenge your skills and reflexive abilities.
In addition to the Speedrun Mode, New Game+ so that you can carry over all your progress from the standard mode, and the new weapons and gear, there’s also leaderboard support so you can vie for the top spots in the global rankings… assuming that kind of stuff is important to you.
The update also received a short trailer just under a minute long, showcasing the new content from the update in action.
And yes, there have been two additional songs added to the soundtrack from the ground Sidewalks and Skeletons. Hilariously enough, Reikon states that it’s to make you even “sadder and angrier”.
The level cap is set to 35, and if you already own the PC version of the game you can check out the free update now and slap your Ruiner on some new clothes through the gameplay options menu through the settings screen.
The game reminds me of a mix of Hard Reset meets Hotline Miami. I suppose it’s no surprise that the game would be published by Devolver Digital, eh?
The update for the PC version of Ruiner is available right now, but if you own the game on PS4 or Xbox One, you can look for the free update to arrive on the other home consoles soon. During the latest free update announcement, you can also purchase the game for 33% off for a limited time from the Steam store.
