Final Fantasy is an ongoing franchise that has been running for 30 years. Taking that into consideration and that 2018 is right around the corner, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto noted in a recent interview that 2018 will be a “big year” for Final Fantasy, which includes new games.
If you don’t know, fans seem to have a split relationship when it comes to Shinji Hashimoto. At times you will see folks praising him, while other times you will hear them saying that he is a liar.
Whatever your take is on Hashimoto, whether it be good or bad, we know for a fact that he had explained to YouTuber EDAMAME Arcade Channel the following:
“Next year will be the 31st year, and our teams are busy working on new titles. They are all gearing up for a big year next year. Next year is going to be a big year.”
Hashimoto later added that…
“Next year will be a big one, and we will bring exciting, new Final Fantasy titles to the world.”
Some fans stressed that this is just hype talk from Hashimoto, while other fans added that they truly believe the year 2018 will be big for Final Fantasy.

Finally, the franchise or series of Final Fantasy is set to turn 30 years old come December 18th, 2017.
