Tekken 7 Will Get Noctis From Final Fantasy XV Come Spring, 2018

Bandai Namco made a pretty huge announcement during the TWT FGC tournament for Tekken 7 recently, unveiling that the Unreal Engine 4-powered fighting game that launched earlier this year in the West for PC, PS4 and Xbox One would be receiving Noctis Lucis Caelum as a DLC character come spring, 2018.

The news was accompanied by a four minute trailer revealing the addition of the character. You can check it out below.

The trailer starts with a tune playing on a radio and a flyover shot of a kitchen. A smartphone on a table rings and Noctis walks over to pick it up. We see Noctis carry on in the conversation in a nonchalant manner before heading outside the garage.

It’s revealed that Lars called Noctis and asked for his help, but the other boy band members each put in their bid to join the King of the Iron Fist Tournament. Noctis runs off on his own before the others can stop him.

We then get to see the garage area stage rendered in Tekken 7. In the background you can see the rest of the boy band at the car along with a shot Cindy outside the garage.

Combat wise, Noctis looks good. He has many of the same maneuvers he can utilize throughout Final Fantasy XV, including his father’s sword.

The revelation of Noctis for Tekken 7 sent the crowd into a frenzy. CEO organizer Alex Jebailey posted up the video where the TWT crowd’s reaction was captured. You can check it out below.

The trailer is pretty hilarious, as Noctis ends up meeting up with Lars so the duo can go fishing.

Lars looks like a Japanese version of John Cena on steroids in the clip, though.

Anyway, the trailer ends by reminding gamers that Notcis Lucis Caelum is only in the game as a playable character in the arcade, online, and training modes but he won’t be appearing in the Story Mode. So if you were hoping to see him face off in the story against Akuma, you’re fresh out of luck. He would have been raped by Akuma, Kazuya, or even Geese if he were to be put into canon. So it was probably for the best that he was left out of the story mode.

Anyway, you can look for Tekken 7‘s latest DLC to drop during spring, 2018.
