Bandai Namco is looking to draw in the same crowd that From Software reeled in with its Souls series of games with Code Vein, which Bandai Namco happens to be the publisher of. With the publisher’s latest game in development, Code Vein, we learn a little bit more about the game’s story in a new trailer.
Code Vein could be a successful game, it could be a mediocre title or it could be a complete failure at launch. I do know for sure that Bandai Namco has a lot of gamers attention at this very moment, especially with the create a character option.
On the topic of creating a character in Code Vein, we see that you can change their hair type, eye color, add accessories to clothing, change clothing, alter the broadness of a character, and there is even a boob-slider for those who happen to be interested in how their character is displayed on screen.
Aside from the Dark Souls-like feel and the fact that Code Vein has a character creator, is the story worthwhile? Well, we get yet another taste of the game’s story via a new trailer “Underworld”.
We learn from the new trailer that the main character is a Revenant, who is immortal, but they can be turned into a dangerous thing called the Lost. The Revenant were once human, and now in the post-apocalyptic scenario presented in the game, they’re Revenants on a dire mission.
You can check out the new trailer that comes in two forms, which I prefer the Japanese trailer with English subs, as seen below.
There’s no telling when we’ll gain access to another trailer showing story elements or gameplay footage, which could be another month or so.
If you want to get your hands on this game, Code Vein is set to debut sometime in early 2018 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
