The Yakuza Studio and Sega will bring the iconic protagonist of Fist of the North Star or Hokuto ga Gotoku to PS4 come March 8th, 2018 in Japan. The Weekly Famitsu, though, published a new issue that details the Pressure Point Action System ahead of the game’s release.
Whether you like to refer to the new game as Fist of the North Star or Hokuto ga Gotoku, the fact of the matter is that the game will bring familiar parts of the Yakuza series of games and said series together to make this new entry come to life.
If you’ve been wanting more information on this game there’s good news in that the Weekly Famitsu released new information on the Pressure Point Action system.
The fighting can get so intense that words can actually hurt your adversaries, and I’m not joking:
Firstly, the latest issue of Famitsu reads that a skill called “Just Pressure Point” is a technique that deals significant damage by making use of pressure points. To deal this great damage one simply has to press the Circle button with precise timing to execute “Just Pressure Point”.
As shown above, the remarks spewed by dying goons can be realized in your hands and used as actual weapons/items.
Looking over to the next move called “Abeshi Collection” happens to be an element that lets you collect the remarks uttered by dying enemies. This one is like “Just Pressure Point”, however it opts for vocalized letters realized as characters (or words) as pick-ups without having to damage an enemy in the first place.
As for “Burst” this move is a technique that increases the strength of Kenshiro, and can be triggered by building up the charged gauge upon defeating an enemy. On the topic of power ups, “Destiny Gems” can be used in the status board to activate special abilities.
Lastly, we have “Yadoyado Talismans”. This can be equipped to strengthen Kenshiro’s abilities so that he can learn new techniques. Once activated, cut-ins drawn by the illustrator of the manga will appear on the screen. By obtaining Raoh’s talisman, you can use Kenshiro’s “Tensho Honretsu” technique.
