Studio Chahut and Playdius recently announced that Post Human W.A.R is set to graduate from its Early Access run starting December 14th later this month. To celebrate the game’s launch a new trailer was released to give gamers an idea of what the game is about and how to make good on warfare in a post-human society.
Now the game was originally supposed to come out of Early Access after only two months of testing, iterating, and updating based on community feedback. However, the game’s Early Access run ended up lasting six whole months. They entered back on May 3rd, 2017, where they sold the game for $14.99. The good part is that if you were planning on picking up the full version of the game, you’ll still be able to do so starting December 14th for only $14.99.
The game is a turn-based strategy title where you move through the hexagonal fog of war and uncover your enemies in order to completely and thoroughly decimate them.
You’ll be able to play through a solo campaign for those of you who like single-player games (obviously this means excludes EA’s consumer base since they don’t believe that gamers enjoy linear single-player titles these days), but there are also options available for local hotseat modes and online PvP play. You can check out a rough rundown of the features with the launch trailer below.
I’m sure beyond the pitch video a lot of gamers will probably want to know what has changed over the months between going into Early Access and prepping for full release?
Well, according to the press release, Studio Chahut added new language support, improved visuals, better special effects, and unit balancing. They even added a new condition for victory called the “Champion”, a hidden unit who can be found and killed to secure certain victory… sort of like if the machines managed to find and kill John Connor.
The game itself is based around the concept of animals, killer household robots, and mutant enemies duking it out to control a post-human world.
The game was inspired by classic tabletop gaming, so if you wanted a turn-based title with roots in classic board games but themes based around absurd futurism, you can look to check the game out on the Steam store come December 14th when it launches in full.
