It has been officially revealed through one of the latest gameplay trailers showing off SoulCalibur VI that the fighting game will have 20 characters and 12 stages in the base game. This could change in the future, especially if DLC and expansions roll out.
I should clarify the above information for those who may think that all 20 characters and 12 stages are showcased in the video below thoroughly. In reality 18 of the 20 characters and 10 of the 12 stages are shown as blank slots briefly in the beginning of the new video.
The other 2 of the 20 characters are the frequently shown Mitsurugi and Sophitia, while the 2 out of 12 stages happen to be the Shrine of Eurydice: Cloud of Sanctuary and the Snow-Capped Showdown.
You can look over or speculate what the 20 slots and 12 stages might be at launch by viewing the newly posted video below. The gameplay footage comes in courtesy of Game Clips And Tips.
Looking back at the December 9th PSX 2017 gameplay video featuring SoulCalibur VI producer, we never got a good look at the main menu, and although prone to change at launch, this new video provides a bit more for the eye to see.
In addition to the PSX 2017 gameplay video, we did learn that the there will be new characters introduced in SoulCalibur VI. These characters will be important to the “overall story”, which it was teased that guest characters might make an appearance, too.
I’m not sure how many of the original characters will make a return in this iteration known as SoulCalibur VI, especially given that it’s a reboot/continuation title. This could mean that new characters could replace older fan favorite characters or we could see only a couple of new characters and a slew of classics, who knows.
What is known is that SoulCalibur VI is due out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2018.
