Ylands, Sandbox Game Enters Steam Early Access

Bohemia Interactive has a mixed track record of games under its belt and it seems that Ylands is no exception to that very rule. Although criticims are split on the PC game as of now, if you want to try your hand at the sandbox create-a-scenario game, it’s now available on Steam Early Access.

If you’re unaware of Bohemia Interactive and the games they publish and develop, titles such as DayZ, the Arma series, and their free-to-play game, Argo, are some of their best known games.

A lot of them have mixed ratings, which coincides with Bohemia Interactive’s latest release, Ylands. The game is all about creating scenarios and doing whatever you want in a sandbox setup. Rocking a low-poly count and opting to be whatever genre of game you want, the official description lies below.

“Ylands is a unique sandbox adventure game which allows you to explore your creativity. It is also a platform for making custom games, ranging from simple scenarios to sophisticated game modes.”

Given that the game is in Early Access already reveals that problems will be a common encounter, and if Bohemia Interactive’s other titles speak volume of the dev team, expect Ylands to be in Early Access for quite some time.

On the flip side, though, if you are into building stuff and creating various game modes, places and events, Ylands just might be a game worth checking out or reading up on.

On the topic of checking Ylands out, you can watch the game’s 2017 trailer and a first impressions video by Kage848.

There’s no telling how development will proceed from here on out. Folks interested in the game should constantly check up on the game’s official website, and get educated, especially if titles like DayZ left a sour taste in your mouth regarding its Early Access run.

Finally, Ylands has a deal going on right now that drops its Early Access price down from $14.99 to $11.99 until December 13th.
