Starting March 20th, Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will launch on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in native 1080p. The game originally came out at the tail end of the seventh gen for the Xbox 360 and PS3, so for a lot of gamers who missed out on it before back in 2014, Ubisoft is remastering it for the eighth gen twins. If you happened to purchase a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X recently, they’ve also added support for pseudo-UHD in the form of upscaled 4K support.

The 18th-century Assassin’s Creed title will also come with all of the previously released DLC for the game, including the Armor of Sir Gunn and the Siege of Fort de Sable. There will also be special bonus packs included such as the Master Templar and Explorer packs that come with extra costumes, and weapons, along with Bayek’s outfit from Assassin’s Creed: Origins. A brief 41 second teaser trailer was released to give you a brief overview of what to expect from the remastered edition of the game.

In addition to a beefed up resolution the game will also sport higher definition textures as well, and improved environmental rendering for longer draw distances and new visual effects to help bring the wintery Arctic landscapes to life, along with an improved depiction of New York City.

Players will be able to venture around, killing animals, hunting Assassins and using a wide variety of melee weapons and projectile based firearms.

It’s a shame that Ubisoft didn’t do more to properly promote Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, because it focused on the Templar’s side for once and gave an alternative view to the typical Assassin’s story.

The game came out on PC about a year after it released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, so I don’t know if the upgrades and updates in the PC version are what’s going to make its way into the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game. Since Ubisoft doesn’t mention anything about a PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered, I’m going to assume that the PC version is already as up to date as possible (or at least we can hope).

They do mention that the naval gameplay has been improved since Assassin’ Creed IV: Black Flag, and they’ve added additional ship customization features that weren’t present when the game originally released back in 2014.

You can look for the game to drop on the Xbox One and PS4, with the 4K enhancements for the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, starting March 20th, 2018 later this year.
