Bulkhead Interactive and the Square Enix Collective announced that Battalion 1944 will officially enter into Early Access on Steam starting Thursday, February 1st, next month.
The Derby, England-based developers not only announced the new Early Access date, but they also unveiled a brand new worldwide reveal trailer showcasing actual in-game play from the latest build of Battalion 1944.
Studio lead, Joe Brammer, explained in the press release what they have planned for the public version of the development build, saying…
“We’re going to be using the beta to run domination on the Manorhouse V1 map, as well as showing off our new competitive mode ‘Wartide’ on the map Liberation,”
You can see what the Early Access content will look like with the trailer below.
There have been previous trailers released to give gamers an idea of what the in-game play would be like, as well as a few showcases of the bullet physics, animations, and team dynamics that will be make up for a large part of the gameplay structures within the World War II shooter.
Details on the game modes and content are a little thin at the moment, but Battalion 1944 will launch in Early Access with six playable game modes at $14.99.
The game has been in development for a coupe of years now, and we’ve been reporting on it ever since it came onto the indie development scene. Originally it was announced for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and they announced that it would be landing on Early Access “soon”… back in August of 2016.
Bulkhead Interactive have been slaving away that game, including running closed alpha tests back in spring of 2017 and conducted a few more tests later that summer.
Now, it’s just a matter of counting down the weeks until the game enters into Early Access on Steam. For more info feel free to visit the official Battalion 1944 website.
