German developer Mental Zone Digital Game Studios has a title in the works called Civil Warfare: Another Bullet in War, which is a Battle Royale survival game set within a war-torn town drenched in the chaos of civil war. The objective of the game is pretty simple: be the last surviving warrior after 10 minutes.
The game allows for single play or squad play for up to five people. The map is one square kilometer in size, and it features two different modes of play including the classic deathmatch mode and the Battle Royale mode. A maximum of 50 players per map will be allowed, and you will be able to create your own character, acquire weapons, and personalize your loadout with extended magazines, silencers, sights, and more.
You can see what the gameplay is like Civil Warfare: Another Bullet in War with the trailer below.
Now let’s get into the real talk.
I was originally expecting an awful looking game with terrible looking mechanics. However, it doesn’t look too bad compared to PUBG Corporation’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. It’s passably decent, to say the most.
The shaders aren’t particularly standout, the lighting is par the course for a game like this, and the player models are barely acceptable for what they are.
The real challenge is going to be with the latency and network stability. Will you get better ping playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or Civil Warfare? Will you still suffer massive lag playing against other people from around the world? Will there be regional servers?
The game will have half the amount of players as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds so that might help somewhat reduce the network overhead.
They have plans on finishing the game up within the span of six months. So it won’t stay in Early Access forever. There are also plans to keep the price the same from Early Access into full launch, so there won’t be a punishment for players who decide to wait before diving in.
