Fortnite Battle Royale Map Adds Mine Shafts, Junkyard And A Motel

If you thought the Fortnite map for the Battle Royale mode was just way too empty, too small, or too unexciting, Epic Games decided to update the map with several new locations, including the new Tilted Towers city location, the Shifty Shafts mine in the mountains, the Junk Junction junkyard beyond the forest, and a motel out in the plains.

The update was accompanied with a brief promo trailer showcasing some of the new locations players will be able to visit, and build upon or destroy as they see fit.

The trailer is just under a minute long and you can check it out below.

A second video was also uploaded by Epic Games, this time covering some of the stats for the first 100 days of Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode going live.

The video lays out a bunch useless stats all in one go, and all within 38 seconds. Some of the useless stats include 5.6 billion gliders having been deployed. I’m sure a bunch of people were really heart-stricken with anticipation to find out just how many gliders have been deployed in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode.

Another useless stat is that more than 31.6 billion pieces and structures have been built, and more than 573 billion shots have been fired.

I would have been more curious to know exactly what’s the average minutes played per player; how many users from different countries make up the playerbase; what’s the total hours put into the Battle Royale mode; what’s the win ratio per regional average; what’s the kill ratio per regional average; and what’s the breakdown of the playtime per platform.

Useful stats like that could actually help gauge who’s playing the game, how often, and what the potential player engagement trajectory is like. It helps give you an idea of what the lifespan could be like for a game such as Fortnite.

Anyway, Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode is currently free-to-play right now and you can hop in and check it out on the PS4, Xbox One or PC. For more info feel free to visit the official website.
