Laser Guided Games’ super hardcore, visually menacing deckbuilding real-time strategy game, Golem Gates, is set to graduate from Steam’s Early Access run starting March 28th this spring.
The game is currently available in Early Access right now for only $19.99, and has been there since December, 2017. The developers never had intentions to stay in Early Access for long, which is good for anyone who was excited about Golem Gates has serious reservations about Steam’s developmental cycle where many games graduate but some games go there to die.
Nevertheless, you’ll be able to play the full version of Golem Gates come late March, which includes playing through the wastelands ravaged by ancient wars. You’ll assume the role of the Harbinger, and must command the nanites to fight against the evil golems coming out of the Golem Gate portals.
You’ll have to collect cards in the form of glyphs to upgrade your army, increase your powers, and unleash holy fury against the hordes of golem invaders. You can check out the latest trailer to see what the hard-hitting, physics-based combat is like.
There are over 100 different glyphs to collect, which will allow you to build out various buffs, debuffs, traps, units, buildings and tech you can employ on the battlefield.
While you might be able to build a very powerful deck, you’ll have to deal with randomized draws to help keep things fresh and exciting.
The game features a full-on single-player campaign mode for those of you who enjoy playing alone and using your wits to come up with new strategies as opposed to trying to come up with new ways to tell someone in chat that their breath smells like Cheney’s first name.
However, if you aren’t content with just playing with yourself, like so many other people out there, you can have someone else join in on the fun with a co-op survival mode. Additionally, there’s also local bot matches and online PvP modes.
