Hidden Dragon Legend, 2.5D Brawler Leaps From PS4 To Steam

Oasis Games announced that the 2.5D side-scrolling brawler, Hidden Dragon Legend, has officially launched on Steam. The game originally came out back in September of 2017 for the PlayStation 4.

Developer Megafun Games designed Hidden Dragon Legend where players will have to face off against enemies in ancient China will progressing through Metroidvania-inspired puzzles, upgrading your character with an RPG-style skill tree, and battling enemies using hack-and-slash, beat-’em-up gameplay.

Hidden Dragon Legend came out to a fizzled response from the PlayStation gaming community, but the more martial arts-inclined PC gaming community might welcome the 2.5D brawler with open arms. If you need a taste of what the gameplay is like, just check out the launch trailer.

Graphically, the game actually looks pretty good. As you can see the character designs and environments look visually acceptable.

There is a bit of a contrasting issue, though. The coloring for the characters matches the palette of the background. It would have been nice if there was a bit more sprucing up of the texture palette or the character shaders to help them stand out a bit more.

Nevertheless, fans of games like Onikira: Demon Killer or Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior’s Rise will probably find themselves right at home with the gameplay of Hidden Dragon Legend. The biggest difference between this game and the other two is that there’s a lot more platforming segments in Hidden Dragon Legend.

The story itself is themed around a warrior during the Imperial era of China who is put under a spell by an evil faction who used an ancient relic called the Dragon Cauldron to take command of him. After finally breaking free from the spell, the hero ventures out to take down the evil faction that attempted to use him for their bidding.

Hidden Dragon Legend is available right now on Steam for $14.99 and is available on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStatoin 4 for $19.99.
