Immortal Redneck, Old-School FPS Headed To Nintendo Switch In 2018

Crema Studios announced that Immortal Redneck is coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point during the first quarter of 2018. This old-school first-person shooter features new-school graphics, combining a little bit of the old with the new.

If you’re an owner of the Xbox One or the PS4, you can look to get your hands on Immortal Redneck a heck of a lot sooner than Nintendo Switch gamers, given that Crema Studios announced that the game would be arriving on Microsoft and Sony’s consoles starting February 27th, 2018. So you’ll be able to shoot and blast your way through ancient Egypt as a mummified Redneck.

The game will also launch with special enhancements for the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. I’m not sure exactly what sort of enhancements they’re adding to the game, but they do mention general enhancements along with frame-rate improvements for the two bigger consoles.

The story behind the game is pretty simple, you’re a Redneck who wakes up as an immortal mummy in Egypt. You’ll have to battle through the pyramids of Giza to beat the crap out of everything that stands in your way, using retro-mystical weapons and classic rogue-like magical abilities. You can check out the gameplay below to get a look at Immortal Redneck in action.

Basically, if Assassin’s Creed: Origins was about becoming “kangz”, Immortal Redneck is all about killing them.

The game features 50 different weapons that range from the classic to the bizarre and everything else in between. There are 100 scroll modifiers for players to acquire that will help them out, and the game features various upgrades via a persistent skill tree so you can modify your Immortal Redneck to take advantage of health upgrades, damage bonuses and more.

If you’ve been itching for a first-person shooter that isn’t an overblown, over-budgeted, Hollywood spot-fest filled with sociopolitical agenda pushing, you can look for a classically made first-person shooter to arrive on the Xbox One and PS4 starting February 27th. If you own a Nintendo Switch and want to play this old-school-esque FPS on the go, the release date will arrive at some point within the first quarter of this year.
