Metal Gear Survive ESRB Rating Arrives Ahead Of Its January 18th Beta

Ahead of Konami’s Metal Gear Survive January 18th beta comes information about the game via its ESRB listing. Metal Gear Survive is set to launch across PC, PS4 and Xbox One on February 20th in North America, and on February 22nd in Europe.

Often known as the abomination game comes Metal Gear Survive’s ESRB content and rating summary, which can be further investigated by visiting esrb.org.

As shown in previous trailers, the game throws players into the role of a soldier attempting to survive against zombies. Taking Metal Gear 5: The Phantom Pain as a base and powered by the Fox Engine, the upcoming game explores a hostile world where players must scavenge for resources to craft useful items:

“This is an action game in which players help a soldier find a way home after being transported through an alternate dimension. Players undertake missions to explore a hostile world, looking for resources to craft weapons/equipment and rescue other survivors.”

Weapons and different types of guns are referenced on the game’s ESRB page, which claim to sport “realistic gunfire” and moments where players face-off with crystalline alien creatures:

“Along the way, players use pistols, machine guns, automated turrets, traps, and explosives to battle crystalline alien creatures and infected soldiers in frenetic firefights. Realistic gunfire, large explosives, and screams of pain are heard during combat.”

Blood and swearing will be in Metal Gear: Survive, which pretty much explains its final rating of M for: Blood, language, and violence. This is also explained in the following text on the ESRB page:

“Large blood-splatter effects are depicted when characters are injured/killed; some environments depict large pools of blood underneath corpses. The word “sh*t” appears in the dialogue.”

If the rating of Metal Gear: Survive isn’t of interest, you can play the upcoming Konami game for four days when its scheduled beta kicks-off on January 18th to January 21st.

PC players are excluded from the beta, leaving PS4 and Xbox One being applicable participants. In the beta you will be able to play three missions, with other players in the game’s online co-op mode, across two different maps.

To participate in this beta on PS4 and Xbox One you will need an active PlayStation Plus subscription and Xbox One Gold activated to play. More information on both the ESRB and upcoming beta for Metal Gear: Survive can be found by hitting up the given links.
