The Commodore Story Chronicles The Rise And Fall Of Commodore Starting Feb 23rd

Wavem Studios released a new trailer for the upcoming The Commodore Story, which is a Kickstarted documentary about the rise and fall of the Commodore computer system.

Indie Retro News spotted the new trailer for the documentary, which is a short and sweet two minute look promotional look at what the documentary covers. You can check it out below.

The trailer is quite compelling. It’s put together in an expert way, showcasing some of the classic footage of the Commodore in action. It highlights some of the bright minds involved with bringing the system to life, which was a time centered around the meritocracy of excellence rather than the diversity of skin color and gender. The team managed to create a computer system that was highly efficient and fairly powerful but managed to compete at a worthwhile price.

The trailer only has time to dip its toe into the start of the Commodore’s rise to power and how it’s no longer a big name in the current day landscape of high-end technology, expensive gadgets, and low-cost hardware solutions.

It doesn’t end on a sad note, though. The trailer rounds out by contrasting what is recognizable today in the tech entertainment industry and highlights what used to be the big thing of the yesteryears electronic entertainment, and states that viewers will go on a journey through time to see what made the Commodore 64 one of the best selling computers in history and what led up to its eventual success.

It seems like a pretty cool documentary that doesn’t skimp on the details or attempt to rewrite history.

You can look to grab a digital copy of the documentary starting February 23rd in 2018 on Amazon, the iTunes App Store or by renting it from Netflix. Pre-orders are also available over on the Kickstarter page.

If you’re interested in the history of one of the most recognized and celebrated pieces of electronic tech from back in the 1980s, you’ll likely want to check out the documentary.
