After Blitworks and THQ Nordic announced that de Blob 2 was coming to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, there was an outcry, as if a thousand Nintendonites cried out in digital unison from behind their smartphones hooked up to their Switches. Why? Because THQ conveniently left the Switch out of the platform line-up for de Blob 2.
Well, THQ Nordic is back… and this time they addressed all those Nintendonites who cried and begged papa THQ for a port of de Blob for the Switch. THQ announced that de Blob is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Now keep in mind that the gamers begging for the port weren’t just doing so as part of the new-console craze to beg for all sorts of new and old software, alike. Originally de Blob did launch for the Wii a decade ago, and it did get its start on Nintendo’s console. So it’s no surprise that Nintendo fanboys and fangirls were hoping for a remastered version on the newest hybrid device.
While de Blob 2 is still no where to be seen for the Switch, the original de Blob is set to land on the console at some point later in 2018.
THQ is also teaming back up with Blitworks to handle the port job of the decade old game.
You’ll be tasked with taking down the evil I.N.K.T. Corporation after they declared that color was a crime. You’ll need to paint Chroma City with plenty of splashes of color in order to bring life and vibrancy back to the sandbox.
The more color you implant into the environment, the more the game world changes and evolves, including the music becoming more electric, and the environment having more bounce and pizazz.
No release date has been set yet for de Blob’s debut on the Nintendo Switch, but I imagine it’ll arrive at some point later in 2018.
