Northgard, Viking Strategy Game Graduates From Early Access On March 7th

Northgard, the Norse-themed strategy game from Shiro Games is set to graduate from Early Access and launch in full starting March 7th. The game originally entered into Early Access back on February 22nd, 2017… so they’ve managed to keep within their time frame, which was originally set between four and 12 months in Early Access.

While the core game was mostly in place back during the early days of the Early Access run, the team had to flesh out a full story-driven campaign mode and all of the character, mission, and cinematic elements that would help shape Northgard’s narrative.

The title is about traveling Vikings who eventually settle on the mysterious isle known as Northgard. It’s not an easy task to colonize the land given all the dangers, monsters, and natural inhabitants there willing to stand in their way. Players will have to forage, craft, smelt and expand their village while dealing with the harvest before winter, the freezing temperatures during the cold months, and the giants that must be faced down living out in the wild.

You can see what the gameplay is like for Northgard with the campaign trailer below.

Northgard is already quite popular on Steam, even during its Early Access run. More than 530,000 people have already played the game according to Steam Spy, so there’s already a built-in fanbase and the possibility of riding the promotional trajectory to even higher sales during its full launch.

You’ll have a mix of strategy-based gameplay along with village management, building out your settlements, and exploring the fog of war with all the dangers and riches that come with it, including wyverns, ice dragons, and undead warriors.

You can look to get your hands on Northgard starting March 7th next month. For more info feel free to visit the Steam store page.
