Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn Launches This Spring For Switch, PS4, XB1, PC

Saber Interactive has announced a partnership with Wired Productions, announcing that Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will arrive this spring for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch both digitally and physically.

The news was accompanied by a trailer that has already been released like several times already, but Saber Interactive probably figured that they couldn’t spam the trailer enough just to get the news out there and some eyeballs on the product. You can view it below in case you haven’t seen it when it was posted around the web like a dozen times before.

Unlike the original 16-bit fighter, the upcoming crowdfunded title is an eight-direction fighter where you travel through locations and face off against a variety of different enemies and bosses across exotic locations.

You’ll be able to acquire various power-ups and costumes to increase Shaq’s powers, or fight against certain enemies.

We still haven’t seen much about this game and the gameplay has been kept surprisingly secretive despite the fact that it’s gearing up for release this spring. At the very least I would have expected at least part of a level to be on display or some breakdown of the controls or combat systems. Right now we’re just kind of left out in the wild as far as impressions go. It’s not a good look, especially when the game is so close to release.

And to make matters worse is that the press releases don’t really talk about the game. You can play as alternate egos of Shaq and fight against celebrity bosses, but we have no idea how many combos will be present, how many different power-ups and costumes you’ll be able to acquire, or how many stages you’ll have to beat.

Nevertheless, the game is scheduled to release on store shelves and digital distribution outlets for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
