Skyblivion: Glory Of Cyrodiil Trailer Showcases Progress On Massive Fan Project

The crack team of modders working on the Elder Scrolls V total conversion mod, Skyblivion, released a new teaser trailer for their project, which attempts to overhaul and remaster Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion within Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The team is making headway on the project after investing 1.5 years of development time into it, and they’ve managed to create new 3D assets, complete about a third of the map, and start work on quest implementation and script construction.

To help showcase some of their progress on the project, a new four minute teaser trailer was released to give gamers a look at how far along Skyblivion has come.

Not only did they completely redo a lot of the assets and graphical work from the ground up, but if you listen closely they’ve remade the soundtrack as well.

The new OST tries to go for a more subdued cinematic sound. It definitely matches the pristine and Lord of the Rings-esque flyby shots in the trailer.

A majority of the content showcases the game’s all new environments and updated visuals, but we get a brief look at some of the monster inhabitants after the two minute mark.

Later on in the trailer some of the underground caverns get a brief spotlight to showcase the work being done both on top of the map and below it.

We also get a brief look at some of the custom-made creations occupying the game’s world, along with the revamped armor and weapons, which some people might instantly yell out the similarities to Dark Souls, even though Elder Scrolls has been around a heck of a lot longer.

Nevertheless, there will be new behavioral AI, new scripts, new content, new assets, new weapons, new quests… lots of new things jam packed into this community project. If you’re interested in learning more you can do so by visiting the official Skyblivion website.
