Looking for a top-down shooter that has mechs in it? Well, publisher and developer Deonn Software aims to bring gamers a hardcore action experience in Armed to the Gears. The PC game will release through Steam Early Access on March 19th.
If you’re looking for a new mecha game to play rocking a top-down camera setup, I think Armed to the Gears might be a game worth keeping an eye on. Slated for release in the next two weeks for PC via Steam Early Access, Armed to the Gears is set in a dystopian future where a totalitarian regime, under the flag of the Ministry, dominates the whole world.
The story sees billions of people enslaved, while an underground resistance fights the totalitarian regime for freedom. You will assume the the role of an underground resistance engineer, who’s able to hack into the Ministry’s Infantry Class robots and control their weapons.
Your primary mission in this game is to capture every “Neutrium Reactor” and secure the reactor’s perimeter to avoid enemy takeover, while suppressing the enemy’s presence in the area.
If that sounds like fun, you can get a good look at what Armed to the Gears has to offer thanks to its Early Access teaser trailer.
The game in question will launch with a total of four playable maps, with one of them being a tutorial stage. These four maps are the Training Fields, Lower Downtown, Desert Base and the Ammo Factory.
More maps, weapons and features are planned to release later down the line, much like any other Early Access title, except the devs plan to slightly raise the price for new customers when new content is added. Existing owner of the game will not be affected by the slight price increase.
