Beast Quest, Monster Hunter Sim Launches March 13th For PS4 And Steam

The fantasy-adventure game from Torus Games and Maximum Games based on the best-selling fantasy book series called Beast Quest is set to launch on Steam for PC and on the PlayStation 4 on March 13th.

The game is a third-person, hack-and-slash adventure title where you journey around, slaying mythical beasts in what looks like a dime-store version of Link from The Legend of Zelda.

The game centers around a young warrior intent on saving the Kingdom of Avantia from being overrun by nefarious-minded scoundrels and dangerous monsters the likes of which fuels the nightmares of many young children. Your quest centers around hunting down and defeating the evil wizard, Malvel, who has taken the creatures and beasts of the land under his control. You’ll have to fight through bandits, thieves, and vagabonds while also freezing the dangerous beast bosses using dodges, blocks, parries and timely strikes.

You can check out the gameplay trailer below for Beast Quest, which gives you a fairly solid idea of what to expect from the third-person adventure.

As you can see in the features trailer above, the game follows Tom during his adventures to defeat and free the beasts. The game’s story covers the story up through the first four books of Beast Quest.

In order to defeat the beasts you’ll have to acquire new gear, loot new armor and upgrade your weapons. It’s very Legend of Zelda-esque with a side order of Monster Hunter.

The animations look a little too stiff for my liking and we don’t get to see enough of the actual combat for me to tell how well it will work in the full thing.

Anyway, if you wanted to add it to your wishlist or learn more about it, you can do so by visiting the official website. Beast Quest is due for release on PS4 and Steam starting March 13th.
