Code Vein Screenshots Show Off More Characters And Cathedral Stage

Code Vein aims to bring “hardcore” third-person action RPG elements sometime this year. Bandai Namco is not only looking to fill in the Dark Souls void with Code Vein, the company is also looking to pump people up for its arrival with a new batch of screenshots.

It’s unclear at this point and time when Code Vein will release to the general public for mass consumption, but what is certain is that Bandai Namco has new images up for folks to look over.

The screens that are available depict various figures in the game’s cast of characters, as well as enemies. Additionally, we can see familiar faces like Jack and Eva, and things like the Successor of the Ribcage — a blood thirsty wolf-creature.

Housing this creature comes the Cathedral of the Sacred Blood. This place looks like it was ripped straight out of a Souls game. The description for this cathedral can be looked over right here:

“Cathedral of the Sacred Blood – A huge cathedral that calls out to lost lambs who end up wandering its halls forever. The Successor of the Ribcage, a huge wolf-like creature, blocks the player’s path within the cathedral.”

The screenshots showing a list of things nestled in Code Vein can be seen below.

As for gameplay, Code Vein dabbles in the third-person action RPG genre and aims to give journalist a bad day in the difficulty department. Players will assume the role of a Revenant, which can be customized to the player’s liking.

Tasked to embark into the world with a companion picked from the various residents of Vein to uncover lost memories and an exit out of this new demented reality, the world of Code Vein is said to be both dangerous and desolate. According to Bandai Namco, this “vicious world” will test players and their combat skills against formidable enemies and monstrous bosses.

If all of that sounds like something you can get behind, Code Vein will debut sometime this year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
