Microsoft hasn’t done a whole lot right when it comes to leveraging the Xbox brand. However, they definitely did right with the whole backwards compatibility thing and have stepped it up even further to add the one game that a bunch of gamers have been looking forward to as a backwards compatible title: Crackdown.

After delaying Crackdown 3 into the nether region of spring, 2018, gamers looking for a fix when it comes to dispensing violent justice as the boys in cybernetic blue, you can do so with the original Crackdown, which came out back in 2007, 11 years ago.

Yes, the Xbox 360 original is now available as a backwards compatible title for the Xbox One, as reported by VideoGamer.

If you own a physical copy of the game you can slap it into your Xbox One and play the original Crackdown. Alternatively if you have the digital copy you can download it to your Xbox One through your Xbox Live profile.

The original Crackdown was part of a big push by Microsoft to experiment with some interesting new games and give the Xbox 360 some truly unique exclusives. This was back when the Xbox brand had worthwhile exclusives. These days Xbox One gamers are lucky to get an indie game exclusive.

Anyway, Crackdown was joined by the original The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition, which ironically enough can also be enhanced even further than its original enhancements if you have an Xbox One X. The article doesn’t state if the games will run native 4K or just upscaled to 4K from maybe 1440p or 1800p, but all of the new games added to the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility in this most recent sweep have Xbox One X enhancements.

Joining the other two aforementioned games is Fable Anniversary and Forza Horizon. Both Xbox 360 titles are now playable on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility.
