Iron Galaxy and Modus Games are gearing up for the release of Extinction on April 10th next month for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game is basically like the Western version of Attack on Titan, where players take on the role of a guardian who must protect the last bastion of humanity against giant ogres known as the Ravenii.
The guardians are known as Sentinels, and they utilize special weapons designed to kill the Ravenii. The giants managed to come through a dimensional rift and have been wreaking havoc on humanity, destroying all of their cities and literally crushing them beneath their feet. The Sentinels attempt to stop the Ravenii by cutting them down to size… literally.
Players will have to utilize a variety of tools and tactics to dismember the ogres by cutting off their arms and legs and preventing them from attacking you. You’ll also have to utilize special tactics to destroy their armor and eventually behead them. The story of how the Ravenii came into the land and how humanity is on its last legs is detailed in the story trailer below.
Players take on the role of Avil, the last of the Sentinels. Players will have to make use of all of his special abilities and equipment in order to defeat the Dolorum.
Avil will receive support and help from a few helpful allies, such as the narrator in the trailer above, Xandra, along with the King of Dolorum, Yarrow.
As depicted in the trailer, the idea is to defeat the Ravenii and acquire their tech so that they can use it against them.
