MapleStory Blitz Updated With Zakum’s Altar

The mobile trading card game, MapleStory Blitz, has been updated with brand new content, this time featuring Zakum’s Altar, which adds all new dungeons and additional collectible cards to the game.

South Korean publisher and developer Nexon announced that there are now 36 original cards added to MapleStory Blitz. These cards can only be found in the new dungeon areas, so players will be forced to explore and battle their way into acquiring the nascent content.

In addition to the cards and the dungeon, there’s also news that Nexon has shortened the ranked match season from one month all the way down to two weeks. They don’t say why they changed it, but I imagine kids with short attention spans will be more likely to participate in the seasonal challenges if they’re shorter as opposed to if they were longer.

I mean they gotta keep the kiddies pouring money into the cash shops, right?

Outside of the dungeons there are also some new events and challenges for standard play.

To help players adjust to the new cards and get acquainted with the new tactics, there are some new battle guides to help players formulate tactical strategies against PvE and PvP opponents.

The community likes some of the new features but they absolutely hate the new Zakum dungeon given that they’ve complained that due to the constant lag it’s made it really hard to complete the dungeon.

Nexon has suggested people to restart the app and close out other apps to reduce the possible lag during play or to contact customer support.

The game seems to be pretty popular with the Southeast Asians, but that’s probably because that’s where Nexon has been focusing their efforts.

You can pick up a digital copy of MapleStory Blitz right now, for free, from over on the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store.
