The download for Shadowgun Legends from Madfinger Games will go live globally for Android devices starting March 22nd.
The Czech Republic game developers announced that their hybrid RPG-FPS will be available near the end of the month. The game will feature a sprawling story campaign, along with competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes made available through a online social hub. They overhauled the quality of life features so that gamers can start, join and team up with other players in seamless fashion.
Madfinger took a lot of their expertise from working on previous blockbuster mobile games and decided to really apply that knowledge to Shadowgun Legends.
The game itself is centered around a new Shadowgun recruit who will be assigned to a unit that must battle head-on against a massive alien horde known as the Torment. The aliens have been wrecking havoc across the galaxy and destroying any and everything wherever they go. Almost sounds like Merkel’s immigration policy.
Anyway, you can check out the game’s trailer below to get an idea of what the gameplay is like in Shadowgun Legends.
I’m always amazed at how solid looking the gameplay is for many of Madfinger’s titles. I’m sure most gamers are thinking “Why do they focus so much on mobile games?!” well, it’s because that’s where all the big real life loot is. Microtransactions are big business on the mobile side of things if you can get a game out there that taps that sweet, sweet arse of the casual market.
Anyway, the game features PvE and PvP modes where you can loot-and-shoot your way into upgrading your character, unlocking new armor and weapons, along with other upgrades to help you along in the game. I do wonder about the element of pay-to-win? It’s always a factor that quickly turns off many gamers but if it’s slithered in there through the likes of premium loot boxes or random box rolls, it’s something that many gamers unwittingly accept because loot boxes don’t always contain upgrades.
Shadowgun Legends is currently going through the pre-registration process and if you would like to join in you can do so by heading on over to the pre-registration page.
