Dark Souls Remastered PC And PS4 Pro Version Further Detailed; PC Supports Native 4K

A couple of new videos have hit the scene depicting Bandai Namco and From Software’s Dark Souls Remastered, which further detail the PC and PS4 Pro version. Joining the two test videos comes a written list further explaining what will be in remastered game.

The most recent videos and test done on Dark Souls Remastered do not include the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One or the Xbox One X versions. Instead, if you want to see tests done on the PS4 Pro and PC version of said game you will be able see it right here.

The first video comes in by Candyland, which the following description should give you an ideal as to what the video is about:

“Dark Souls is being remastered and here is a first look at it including a comparison to the original version. Both are captured on PC, the original version is scaled up to 1080p while actually being locked at 720p, the remaster is played with native 1080p.”

The second video comes in by PlayStation Underground, which features Bandai Namco’s U.S. Social & Community lead, Dalton Link, to talk what is different in this version of Dark Souls. Just like the above video, this one too comes with a description:

“It’s just like riding a bike! We climb back into the punishing world of Dark Souls on the latest episode of PlayStation Underground. Watch for some beautiful 4K gameplay, and enjoy the show!”

Looking over to the written side of things that Bandai Namco has shipped out for curious folks to learn what Dark Souls Remastered is all about, gamers will find what applicable platform versions have to offer below.

“Dark Souls Remastered will have a 4K resolution with a compatible TV / monitor at 60 frames per second on the Xbox One X, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PC. It will display upscaled 4K resolution on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One, while the PC version will be native 4K.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.

On the Switch, it will have a 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second when docked to TV, and 720p resolution at 30fps when in handheld mode.”

As for the arena side of things, more written content by Bandai Namco reads that a three Vs. three and six player deathmatch have been added. Arena battles can also use Password Matching, which respawn points will be random. Other multiplayer content added in the new version can be looked over right here:

  • The maximum number of players online has increased from 4 to 6.
  • Password Matchmaking is now available, similar to Dark Souls 3. When a player is summoned in Password Matchmaking the player level will be synced.
  • It’s now easier for friends to be matched with each other.
  • Players can turn on / off global matchmaking.

Dark Souls Remastered is set to release for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on May 25th, 2018.
