The latest game by Housemarque running on a combination of the studio’s in-house VFX Engine and Unreal Engine 4, and using Amazon’s Game Tech server, comes Stormdrivers. No platforms have been announced yet, but the company did release a new trailer for the multiplayer-centric title.
According to the dev team, it is said that Stormdrivers has a new announcement trailer out when in reality it’s actually a teaser trailer. An announcement trailer not only announces what a game will be, but what platforms it will hit and a release window, but this trailer doesn’t do that.
Stormdrivers‘ so-called announcement trailer simply teases a small portion of a misty forest and does nothing else besides showing the game’s title.
“Housemarque’s first gaming experience of a new era. A high flying and heavy hitting multiplayer centric experience.”
Thanks to the official description, we know that Housemarque’s first game will be multiplayer focused. It’s unclear what kind of multiplayer the title in question will deliver at the moment, which could mean a list of things.
Anyway, you can take a look at the newly revealed Stormdrivers‘ teaser trailer that’s labeled as an announcement trailer below.
Near the end of the trailer, a burning or sparking thing is seen running that quickly dissolves. I’m not sure what any of that means but hopefully the devs will follow up this teaser trailer with an actual gameplay video sometime soon.
If the following information is any indication of the actual game and holds weight, at Reboot Develop 2018, Housemarque said the game will reflect the company’s core strengths, which includes “second to second gameplay” and “visual effects and explosions.”
While we wait to see what this “multiplayer centric” game holds that features “second to second gameplay” and “visual effects and explosions,” you can head on over to housemarque.com for additional information on the devs and Stormdrivers.
