Team Gotham’s Solo has officially launched on Steam for $14.99. The game is currently discounted by 10% off during the first week of being on sale, so you can grab a copy from the Steam store for $13.49.

The single-player puzzle adventure game looks a lot like Poi and Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Unfortunately the developers decided to quote anti-gaming outlets like Rock, Paper, Shotgun and Rami Ismail in order to convince people to purchase their game. Rock, Paper, Shotgun fabricated a narrative in order to attack and defame the Rimworld developer, while Rami Ismail is responsible for fostering the narrative that Twitch streamers and YouTubers are killing single-player games.

It’s bizarre that people still support groups and institutions that hate them. Gamers really are the cultural epitome of battered wife syndrome.

Anyway, Solo is about exploring an colorful and vibrant archipelago set about in a surrealistic fantasy world. As mentioned, it’s very similar to Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

The plot centers around love as a “fuel” and love as a driving force for the actions taken in life.

The goal of the game is to explore love in a “introspective” way. You’ll have to solve puzzles, course through a branching narrative, and complete the challenges on each of the small islands located in the game’s open-sea sandbox. Once you complete all of the challenges you’ll be able to access the mystic totems and ask a question about love and life.

Visually, Solo looks like something that should be on the Nintendo Switch, with character designs and environments not unlike Animal Crossing.

Early reviews from the community are positive so far, but given the censorship running rampant through digital distribution outlets like Steam, it’s hard to tell how reliable the aggregate review score is.
