Spyro is back, but not with a new game. Activision and Toys For Bob have three remade games for Spyro fans to rediscover in HD, which happens to be Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The HD collection, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, is set to drop on September 21st across PS4 and Xbox One.
Fans looking to jump back into the world of Spyro will be able to do just that with the forthcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy edition. Even though this is a remake of older games, eager fans are dying to get back into the colorful world, and are already marking their calendars for September 21st:
“Spyro’s back and he’s all scaled up! Same sick burns, same smoldering attitude, now all scaled up in stunning HD. Spyro is bringing the heat like never before in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy game collection. Rekindle the fire with the original three games, Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Explore the expansive realms, re-encounter the fiery personalities and relive the adventure in fully remastered glory. Because when there’s a realm that needs saving, there’s only one dragon to call.”
That’s right, Activision officially announced that this package will launch near the end of Q3 for $39.99. The collection includes remade versions of Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
If you want to see new gameplay footage of the remake based on the games that originally released in 1998, 1999, and 2000 games for PlayStation, you can check out the official reveal trailer below.
No PC version has been announced yet, which means that folks who prefer to play on said platform will likely have to wait. Information on this version should be reflected on the game’s official web portal, when announced.
