ARVII and the Aga Ad Media group announced that Zombie Grenades Practice is currently available on Steam for the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift for $12.99.
The game is billed as a practice simulator for when the zombie apocalypse drops, teaching you how to properly lob grenades and blow up the walking dead using a number of different explosive devices and throwables.
The game features a wide array of different grenade and explosive types in order to toss at zombies, including frag grenades, contact grenades, bouncing Bettys, radio grenades, UV grenades and more.
The way the game works is that the fewer grenades you use to accomplish your task, the more points you rack up per level. The game is about teaching you how to utilize precision aiming so that you can accurately throw grenades at your foes.
You can see what the gameplay is like with the trailer below.
So basically, this is like a stealth zombie game. Your objective isn’t to attract attention or get the attention of zombies, but to make sure that you blow the crap out of zombies.
As much as I think it’s an interesting concept, I just don’t know if this is the sort of game that’s really going to set the world on fire. I mean, throwing grenades and watching the destructible environments go boom is kind of neat, but it’s hard to see how you could get much replay value out of something like this, especially since it only seems to have a single-player adventure mode.
You can use the motion controllers for realistic grenade handling, which some gamers might find appealing. I suppose this is why it’s only $12.99.
Would adding traditional guns or multiplayer improve the replay values? I don’t know.
