Garry’s Mod is still kicking to this day. One would think that it would have faded in popularity by now or that most modders would have moved on to something else, but I guess due to the lack of new games that allow for modding, most creative types have to stick with Garry’s Mod by default.
Anyway, two popular new mods that have invaded the space includes a player-model for Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War, and a usable Infinity Gauntlet SWEP that allows you to unleash some truly devastating power. You can download the Infinity Gauntlet SWEP from Xyz_’s Steam Workshop page.
The Infinity Gauntlet has a number of different abilities attached to a weapon wheel. You can easily pull the wheel and access 20 different abilities. Press ‘R’ to select the Infinity Stone, and press the right mouse button to cycle through the powers while the left mouse button activates the power. You can see how cool some of the features are with the demonstration video below.
It still amazes me to this day how good the physics are in the Source Engine. It’s also a crying shame how few newer games out there actually take advantage of the physics capabilities afforded in today’s hardware.
Of course, what good is the Infinity Gauntlet if you don’t have anything to attach it to? Thankfully, modder Kryptonite has imported the player-model for Thanos from Epic Games’ Fortnite based on his appearance in Avengers: Infinity War.
The player-model also comes with a bodygroup helmet attachment that you can add or remove at leisure.
You can use the player-model and the Infinity Gauntlet together to create some real mayhem, or put together some really awesome machinima.
You can download the Thanos player-mode from over on the Steam Workshop page.
